What is the difference between the definition of Meditation and hypnosis?

Guided meditation and images are done as the standard practice of yoga. I am a teacher of meditation and relaxation have been asked if my practice is in hypnotherapy as it takes people to a state of deep relaxation with guided imagery.

Hypnotherapy is derived from the Greek word "Hypnos" meaning sleep, which is induced for therapeutic purposes or advice through autosuggestion or self or another (Hypnotherapist). It 'important to note that the "sleep" applies here to the nervous system, because the person may be awake, but rather to focus attention with reduced peripheral awareness, and certainly not unconscious. Meditation On the other hand comes from the Latin word "meditatum", that is to reflect and is also used for self-improvement. There are various forms and practices meditation, and because of these varieties of meditation, its application varies and this is why some, like the type that can be taught self-involved suggestions as in hypnosis. Both hypnotherapy and meditation require a deep relaxation and, at this level, the person becomes sensitive to suggestions. If these suggestions are implemented by someone else or are self-induced, the main purpose is usually to change the behavior and the emotional content of the mind. And what is the mind? The mind is made up of two extremely major components, the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind is the part of us that thinks and reasons. E 'analytic and objective, and therefore can accept or reject the suggestion and all decisions are made in the conscious mind. The subconscious mind, the other acts almost as the "servant" of the conscious mind, because all the conscious mind accepts, the subconscious must accept too, has no capacity to reject suggestions. It 's the emotional mind, and is often referred to as the subjective mind. Because of the subjective and passive nature of the subconscious mind is very sensitive to suggestions, repetition (as stated) and can be easily conditioned. Access to the subconscious mind is through deep relaxation, hypnosis and meditation.
