Is Hypnosis a form of witchcraft?

I find magic very interesting and I like to buy tricks and learn them from sites such as Penguin Magic, Theory 11 and so on and started getting into hypnosis this past year. Particularly a method known as “Zap” from Hon Wong. I guess my main concern is, is if hypnotism is a form of witchcraft? I mean I understand how it works and why many people argue that it’s not but when you really stop and think about it, doesn’t putting others in altered states like that leave them susceptible to demonic influences? What are your thoughts?

I honestly don’t think so. Nothing in the scripture forbids it, unless you interpret “enchantment” to mean “hypnosis” (and some people do). However, the word “enchantment” implies a supernatural element, and there is NOTHING supernatural about hypnosis.

P.S. I believe demons are very real, but there’s no reason to think they are connected to hypnosis.
